Do you feel like anxiety has taken over the driver’s seat?
Maybe you struggle to set the boundaries you need in your relationships?
Do you wonder how past traumatic experiences might be showing up in the present, or find yourself feeling frustrated that they still affect you?
Perhaps you’re wanting to explore who you are, and how to feel more fulfilled in life or navigate change?
If any (or all) of those resonate with you, I’m here to help.
I’m a science-based psychotherapist with a passion for working with clients in these areas and more. I offer therapy for real humans, from a real human trained in the techniques that really work.
My approach to therapy
Person-centered & humanistic
We human beings have much in common, & we are also unique individuals. I’m here to listen & to learn about you: your experiences, values, concerns, strengths, & goals.
Evidence-based
Like science? Me too! I don’t bring anything into therapy that hasn’t held up to scientific scrutiny. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in its many forms & sub-types.
Affirming & validating
I’m here to support you, to hold a safe space for you & let you know that whatever you are experiencing, you are not in it alone.
Trauma-informed
I understand how trauma occurs, & how it leaves lasting impacts. I’m here to guide you through it, & help you connect to your inner well of resilience & find healing.
The bitterroot is a survivor.
But you might not guess that by looking at one. A tiny sprig of green leaves, dwarfed by a delicate bloom.
Hidden below the surface is a sturdy, strong taproot. It is found in remarkably inhospitable landscapes - in the arid heat, from gravelly soil to rocky cliffs. It is known to be able to go an entire year without water, springing back to life when conditions improve.
They are highly resilient, and truly beautiful.

About me
Hello! I’m Kambra (she/her, they/them). I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, & have been practicing as a therapist since 2021.
I’m a science-based psychotherapist with a passion for working with clients in these areas and more. I offer therapy for real humans, from a real human trained in the techniques that really work.
Here’s the clinical-speak part: I’m a humanistic, evidence-based provider. You're the expert on yourself & your experiences, & I'm the expert in how to achieve your counseling goals.
I’m an integrative, trauma and attachment informed therapist focused on behavioral and cognitive-behavioral treatments including CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP. All of those acronyms translate to mean that I specialize in using therapy tools that hold up to scientific scrutiny. I don’t believe that behavior falls out of the sky, hits someone, and keeps repeating for no reason. Let’s work together to understand where these patterns have come from, and how to change them.
My primary specialties are anxiety disorders, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, as well as self-actualization and identity. I am also experienced in treating depression and other mood disorders, insomnia, refining a differential diagnosis, body image, and OCD. I especially enjoy working with teens, young adults, & women of all kinds.
Your goals shape our sessions. I tailor techniques and treatment plans to best meet your needs. Did something unhinged happen since I saw you last? No problem! Let’s pivot and address that.
In our first session, we’ll identify your goals. Maybe you have very specific things you’d like to focus on. Maybe you’re not sure - it can be helpful to think about goals for therapy as the changes you will see in your life that will tell us that the work we’re doing is working for you in the way that you want it to.
Clients often share that they find my approachable use of psychoeducation helpful to better understand how their brains and bodies work, especially with trauma and anxiety. I love teaching neurophysiology and behavioral concepts in a way that's easy to understand and use.
Expect an authentic human who offers science-backed treatment with warmth, validation and support.
I’ve worked in both private practice & integrated primary care, & have provided both traditional talk therapy & equine-assisted outdoor therapy (Natural Lifemanship). I am currently working to add equine-assisted therapy to my practice.
WA is my lifelong home. I am happiest in nature & the outdoors. I have two mustangs, some chickens, two cats, & two dogs. In addition to loving animals, I enjoy leatherworking, working on my project car & other DIY things, & mountain biking.

I practice in an integrative manner, which means that your goals shape our sessions. I tailor the techniques & treatment plan to best meet your needs. We might have specific goals, homework, & structured therapy, or we might play it by ear from week to week, or we might work with a combination of both. Ultimately, your needs are what define our agenda.
I often use psychoeducation with my clients. I have found that most folks find it helpful to understand how their brains & bodies work in relation to the concerns we’re working on in counseling. I’m passionate about neurophysiology, & I love finding ways to teach this information that makes it easy to understand and apply in your day-to-day life. This is particularly true when working with trauma & anxiety.
You can expect mindfulness, humor, warmth, validation & support, & science-backed treatment that meets you where you are. Swearing, dark jokes, & pets on camera are all welcome, but not required.

I consider myself a feminist therapist, & I am sex-positive, as well as gender & LGBTQ-affirming. I am eating-disorder informed & uphold the HAES model. I recognize how systems & oppressive tactics have disproportionately impacted people, & consider these factors both in the interventions I use in therapy as well as in offering discounted sliding-scale rates.
The code of ethics for my profession require respect & support of client autonomy, cultural sensitivity & competence, & not allowing our personal biases to impact our clients in a harmful way.
